Brainspotting Therapy
“Where you look affects how you feel.” - David Grand, PHD
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a focused brain and body-based therapy that uses specific eye positions, nervous system awareness, and body-based cues to support deeper emotional processing and healing.
Rather than requiring clients to fully relive or retell painful experiences, Brainspotting creates space to mindfully move through what is held in the body and nervous system at a pace that feels grounded and manageable.
During a Brainspotting session, we work together to identify a “brainspot,” or fixed eye position, that connects with how your body is holding a specific experience. You then gently and mindfully focus on that spot while allowing your internal experience to unfold at your own pace.
You can speak as much or as little as you’d like. Many people are surprised by the depth of processing that can happen without needing to fully explain or analyze what’s coming up. My role is to stay attuned to your process and support you as you access your own innate capacity for healing.
Sessions may also include Biolateral sound, an alternating auditory stimulation that can support nervous system regulation and deeper processing. Developed out of EMDR, Brainspotting is a focused, experiential approach that works beyond traditional talk therapy by engaging both the brain and body in healing.
